Countdown to Arizona Superbowl 2015 Phoenix, Scottsdale and Surrounding Glendale

With 179 days and counting until Super Bowl XLIX, the Arizona Super Bowl Host
Committee and Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton today unveiled a countdown clock at
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport which will mark the hours, days and
seconds until the opening kick-off of the State’s third Super Bowl since 1996.

“We’re thrilled to have the Super Bowl XLIX countdown clock prominently located
at Sky Harbor, the most highly-trafficked point of entry to the state. As we hit
the six-month mark, this will help drive awareness and anticipation for the
Super Bowl and all the surrounding events,” said David Rousseau, Chairman of the
Board of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee.

The state-of-the art digital clock located in Terminal 4 at Sky Harbor is
illuminated on a 55 inch, high-definition LED screen. After today’s unveiling
on the west end of the baggage claim area, an additional countdown clock was
illuminated on the east end of baggage claim in Terminal 4. The terminal serves
more than 80 percent of Sky Harbor’s passengers.

“The city of Phoenix is ready to host its largest Super Bowl celebration yet,”
said Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton. “Phoenix Sky Harbor will be the gateway to the
Valley for tens of thousands of Super Bowl visitors and we are working closely
with the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee to ensure the best fan experience the
NFL has ever seen.”

In the month surrounding the big game, Phoenix Sky Harbor will serve an
estimated 4 million passengers. The new PHX Sky Train will provide a quick,
convenient ride from the airport to the light rail connection, giving football
fans an easy way to travel to Super Bowl Central, a festival made up of 12 city
blocks that will be the epicenter of free, fan fun, in Downtown Phoenix. Super
Bowl Central will be held for four days leading up to the game.

Super Bowl XLIX will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium on February 1,
2015, marking Arizona’s third Super Bowl in 19 years. At Super Bowl XLII in
University of Phoenix Stadium on February 3, 2008, The New York Giants beat the
New England Patriots 17-14. Arizona’s first big game, Super Bowl XXX, was held
at Arizona State University’s

Sun Devil Stadium in 1996, with the Dallas Cowboys beating the Pittsburgh
Steelers 27-17.

Superbowl 2015 its only 8 months away, some things you may want to plan ahead

It may only be 8 months away but Superbowl 2015 is coming back to Phoenix, the valley of the sun. After last years brutally cold weather, which was hard on the fans and the players, the NFL has opted to return to a sunnier disposition in Phoenix. Having the superbowl hosted in our city is a great opportunity for local businesses and vendors, as it brings $500 million dollars to the host city. Even if you missed out on the Superbowl ticket lottery that ended on June 1st, 2014 you can still participate in all the pregame festivities at the going on throughout the city. Lots of people will be tailgating out at Univeristy of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, AZ so make sure if you are tailgating to get your parking tickets early, it is sure to be sold out. The DUI task force will be out in full force near the stadium, downtown and will be having checkpoints throughout the city. If you are new to the area, and will be going to the game, call scottsdale car service for any airport shuttles, for transportation to and from the game. You may want to make your hotel and transportation arrangements early in advance as hotel rooms are sure to be booked and completely sold out. you take care of the fun we will take care of the driving. So whether you are a local, trying to check out all the festivities or going to the game here is a few things you may need to consider.

Will it snow?

While we have seen snow in the desert a few times, I seriously doubt it. Typical weather for this time of year would indicate that it will probably be in the 60s at game time. If it is colder, you might need a jacket for outdoor tailgate parties and other local activities (will you be going to the Waste Management Phoenix Open while you are in town?). When you are in the stadium, you'll be in climate-controlled comfort if it is chilly outside.

Where is the stadium?

It's in Glendale, Arizona which is in the northwest part of the Valley of the Sun. Here is a map and directions to University of Phoenix Stadium. The stadium is NOT accessible by light rail.

How do I get tickets?

Typically, a specific number of tickets are allotted to Arizona Cardinals season ticket holders. As soon as the lottery process for obtaining tickets is announced, I will post it here.

If you are not selected to receive tickets in the lottery, chances are that the only way to purchase Phoenix Super Bowl tickets will be through a ticket broker, like TicketsNow.com (Buy Direct) or Ticket Liquidator (Buy Direct), or from scalpers/ticket exchanges. Be careful about buying tickets from unauthorized ticket sellers!

I'll have tickets to the 2015 Super Bowl -- where should I stay?

Here are some recommendations for hotels. They are listed in the order of closest to the stadium first.

Many of the other festivals and parties leading up to the Super Bowl will likely take place in downtown Phoenix, unlike 2008 where they were more spread out around town. For that reason, your first or second choice of hotels should probably be downtown Phoenix or downtown Tempe, where METRO Light Rail can transport you around the downtown area.

Vacation Rentals
You say you'd rather try to find a vacation rental? I imagine that there will be plenty offered! Those are great for groups, or if you'd rather not pay extra for amenities that are not that important to you, like onsite restaurants, room service, valet parking, etc.

Will there be other events leading up to the 2015 Super Bowl?

All of these are accessible by METRO Light Rail.
SuperBowl 2015

Super Bowl Central
A new feature since Arizona last hosted a Super Bowl in 2008, Super Bowl Central will feature live performances by national recording artists and local musical talent, community groups and schools, football themed activities, and beer and wine gardens. Activities will cover 5th Street to First Avenue and Jefferson Street to Monroe Street.
The NFL Experience is a separate festive football-oriented daytime event with kids’ football clinics, interactive football games and autograph sessions. It will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center.
NFL House, a VIP hospitality headquarters, will be located at CityScape.
NFL Media Center will be located at the Phoenix Convention Center.
NFL Headquarters will be at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix.

There's an App for That

Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched a new app featuring deals and discounts from Glendale and West Valley attractions through push notifications and posts. The app includes a cool smartphone punch card that allows visitors to show their smartphone to participating businesses for even more deals, discounts and specials. Other app features include locator maps showing restaurants, shops and attractions in the area; social media walls to encourage visitors to share their experiences; and photo galleries and itinerary ideas for the traveler. As game day gets closer, the app will also feature a special section just for game information, featuring FAQs, specially-themed discounts and deals, hotel information, parking info, game facts and more. To download the app, search for Glendale CVB.

Can I be a volunteer?
The Arizona Super Bowl XLIX Host Committee will be recruiting and training thousands of volunteers for the various events surrounding the Super Bowl as well as for the halftime show and other game day activities. Most volunteers will not get to see the game, but they will be a part of a grand event showcasing our city and our state.

Read My Pins Exhibition will be on showcase at the Phoenix Museum and SCS is your transportation!

An awe inspiring exhibit will be held at Phoenix Art Museum through April called "Read My Pins". The exhibit represents former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright who opposed Sadaam Hussein’s unwillingness to comply with UN inspections, government-owned Iraqi newspapers called her an “unparalleled serpent.” When Secretary Albright was next scheduled to meet with Iraqi officials, she reached into her jewelry box and selected a gold pin featuring a serpent coiled around a branch, and the legend began. Throughout her career as UN Ambassador and Secretary of State under the Clinton Administration, Secretary Albright used the colorful, attention-grabbing pins she had amassed to quietly communicate volumes. Now these pins will be displayed at the Phoenix Art Museum! This is an exhibit you do not want to miss! Call Scottsdale Car Service to get you to the Art Museum with class. Call 480.502.2221
